update on TY trip!
Ty trip Contd:
Tuesday- on Tuesday we got up at around 8am and had breakfast at 8.30am, we did wash up and then made sandwiches to bring with us. After that we made tracks for going to Dun-lewy and the Dun-Lewy crowd came to Garten. The bus ride to Dun- lewy was'nt very long and when we got there we said hi to everyone and then went to the shop next door. We then went to an education centre sort-of place which had a souvenir shop, a park and lotsa things. A man showed us how sheep wool was made in to string, he used a special machine to do it. it was really interesting. We watched a video-clip in irish about the history of ireland and the famine and st. patrick, then the same man showed us how to weave thread, it was really interesting to watch. It takes an hour just to do one inch! think how long it takes to do the whole roll.....
After that we went on a boat trip around a lake, the scenery was pretty. that brought us to a park which had pedoloe's, a bucking bronko and racing carts! Heidi, Greg and Kelvin went on the bucking bronko and Sandy and i went on the pedoloes! It was fun. We went back to the Dun-lewy hostel then, their's is so much more fancier than ours! We had lunch there and then got back on the bus to go to a Castle, which was amazing. It would have been incredible to live there! One of the room's, the blue room, was rumoured to be haunted..
When we got home we were all wrecked, no time to relax though! we had to prepare for dinner and then go to the ceili, which was back in Dun-lewy, again. We had curry for dinner and then got back on the bus to return to dun-lewy. The ceili was great fun! Locals played the music and taught us the dances and we danced the night away! :)

The Ty-Trip!!
Hello ! how are you doing? Thank you for stopping by!
Kay, well today i'll be talking about my transition year trip to Garten, in Donegal. The year was split up into three groups, one went to the Aran islands, one to Dun Lewy (i'll check the spelling for that) in Donegal and then the other to Garten.
monday- Us Garten goers set off at 8am, pretty early i know, but we had a four hour trip ahead of us! 25 excited students piled into the bus and soon we were on our way.
When we arrived we were shown around the centre where we would be staying. I shared a room with three of my good friends, which was lucky we were all together!
The first day half of us went Kayaking and the other half did rafting and a mud obstacle course. Yes, you read right, a mud obstacle course. i was in the second group, it was great fun. We followed our leader through to the forest where the bog was, where we would be racing through in teams. my team was called first and i braced myself, making sure my shoes were tied so tight i felt they were going to pop. we didnt want to lose our shoes!
half an hour later we had made our way to the other side of the bog, having trudged through 4 feet of mud, the kind you sink into, and had faced many abstacles. We had the look of succes on our faces as our team had finished first!! But also a grimacing look as we realised queit how muddy we had gotten. Not one of my proudest moments, however, i think i topped the muddy look. I had done a nose dive in to a pool of mud, going completly under, after attempting to cross a slippery tightrope. im la ughing as i remember it!! Good times :) After we brought our raft out into the water and thakfully it didnt sink! We made our way around the bouy and finished in first place!! I must admit our team was pretty good. No thanks to me though, i had no idea how to tie raft knots!
After rafting, we all made our way to a well deserved shower and then after had our first dinner at Garten Education Centre. A good day was had by all. And that was only the first day!!

Quote of the day :)
And time for reflection with colleagues is for me a lifesaver; it is not just a nice thing to do if you have the time. It is the only way you can survive.

Twin towers anniversary 911
This coming Sunday it will be 10 years exactly since the horrific crash of the Twin Towers, so I decided that it would be nice, out of respect and compassion to spend a moment, sparing a thought for all the damage and loss of many many lives due to this awful event. I've just put up a musicvideo i found on youtube about the Twin Towers, please do have a listen to it and have a moment of relection and quiet to remember all those innocent people who lost their lives due to the crash of the Twin Towers. Thank-you.
This is my Blog!
Hey Everybody! :) You are very Welcome to my Blog, Thanks for stoppin' by...
Well, this is new to me. When we were told to make a blog in M.S office, i was a bit iffy and even more so when we were told it could be about anything we wanted. But now that i've started it, iv'e decided i think it's going to be fun, something different. Im always up for anything new and different! So i still don't really know for sure what my blog's going to be about so im going to improvise. It's basically going to be about whatever i feel it should be about in that moment in time. We're talking anything and everything here. So prepare to be surprised!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, i hope you won't be dissapointed and enjoy having a read of it!
